AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE

Welcome to

Pack Goat Trekking Adventures!

Are you ready to explore the great outdoors in a whole new way?

Trekking with our fabulous Anglo Nubian pack goats offers a unique, fun, and eco-friendly way to experience nature. Whether you're an avid walker, a nature lover, or someone looking for a fresh adventure, our pack goat companions make the stroll easier and more enjoyable.

Why Trek with Pack Goats?

Pack goats are intelligent, strong, and friendly animals that can carry gear, allowing you to travel light and focus on the beauty around you.  Unlike horses or mules, goats are agile, low-impact on the environment, and want to travel with you as part of a herd.  Their gentle nature makes them wonderful strolling companions for solo trekkers, families, parties and groups alike.

Cheeky, loving, curious, endearing, calming but best of all, massive characters - what's not to love?

What Do We Offer?

~ Goat Trekking – Enjoy around 90 minutes of a fabulous goat-filled experience.  In this time, after a Health and Safety briefing, we will match you with your perfect trekking partner where you'll harness your goat and fill their pack with your favourite drink, binoculars, sunglasses (here's hoping!) and other small required belongings.

Our trekking trail isn't a fast-paced hike and is under a mile in length however it is on undulating and sloped fields so some amount of fitness is required.  We like you to get the most out of the experience so a stroll is far more enjoyable plus gives you plenty of time to spot any wildlife and our other animals on the way!

Due to Government enforced Bluetongue restrictions, we are currently unable to leave our premises with the goats for a longer trek experience hence why we have a shortened our trek.

~ 'Brew with a View' - Relish a unique rest-stop midway where you can enjoy your drink whilst you take in the views over the historic village of Castle Bytham.  Here you will be able to groom and fuss the goats plus have a good chit-chat!

After your pit-stop, we will amble back where you will have the chance to get up close and personal with our two miniature donkeys, Pinocchio and Bunny.

~ Trek-a-Goat... and Chums! – That's not all, you will be able to spot our South American rhea, alpacas, llama, sheep, Fell ponies, various chickens, ducks and geese!

~ Basic Goat Care Courses – Coming soon....

~ Gift vouchers – Need that extra special and unique gift?  Contact us for gift voucher options.

FAQ's

GOAT-TO-KNOW INFORMATION

Meet the Gang!

Our six Anglo Nubian pack goats all have very different personalities and with that, they each deserve their very own individual identities.

Therefore our boys are all assigned a colour; blue, purple, pink, green, red and black.  These colours relate to their packing gear so you will never lose track of your walking buddy!

Edwin

The Sensitive One

Edwin certainly wins the competition for the longest ears!  They are that long that if he were to flap them, we're sure he would be airborne!

One of the smaller, finer boys Edwin is gentle and sweet.  He loves a good cuddle and attention!

Frederick

The Curious Explorer

A full brother to Edwin, Frederick shares his gentle nature but is a little more roguey!  He loves to climb on things if given the chance and play with his sibling.  Little Frederick has quite unusual back legs and certainly wouldn't win any conformation competitions!

Henry

Mr 'In Your Face'!

Sporting a striking rich conker colour with a dark dorsal stripe, Henry is never one to be missed!  Mostly due to him being always up, close and personal!  He likes to check you out and as he is the tallest of our goats, he uses this to his advantage!

Did you know?

Our castrated boys are a by-product of the dairy industry.  Meaning that as they do not produce milk, they have no economic value & deemed as a 'waste' product.

Did you know?

Anglo-Nubian goats are one of the best breeds for trekking due to their strength, endurance, and friendly personalities!  Originally bred from British and Middle Eastern stock, these goats are known for their long, floppy ears and high milk production (if you're female of course!).

George

The Mischievous Trickster

Don't let his nickname put you off!  George loves to be by your side and presses into you to be scratched.  However he is also known to hide behind you and then gently push you along if he's in a rush!  He does have the best impressive eyebrows though so gets away with it!

Leonard

The Adventurous Leader

Our only spotty packer, Leonard is definitely the most confident in leading the group.  A firm favourite, he is always willing to take part in the game, "Guess How Many Spots?"  He is quite the charmer and has matching eyebrows to his brother, George.

Herbert

The Wise and Quiet One

Even though he is brother to Henry, he is very different!  Chilled, patient and thoughtful, he will stand back and assess the situation.  His stunning dark dorsal stripe against his dun coat really turns heads.  Having survived an operation when he was younger, he is very special and a pleasure to walk with.
