Trekking with pack goats is a rewarding experience, but like any outdoor activity, it comes with certain risks.
Here are some key risks to be aware of:
⚠️Terrain & Slips/Falls – Our fields are not flat and areas are steep, and when wet can become muddy and slippery.
⚠️Goat Behaviour & Reactions – Even well-trained goats can be unpredictable, potentially causing accidental nudges and may chew or nibble at clothing parts, jewellery, hair or even fingers! Goats tend to investigate things with their mouths so please be aware of this - a stern "no" is generally enough to put them off!

Considerations for Juniors & Children at Trek-a-Goat:
⚠️ Age & Experience – Young children (under 8) may be intimidated by our goats as even though they are mostly calm, they are on the larger size and may 'bump' into a small child whilst walking. Therefore it may not be suitable for this age range.
All children under 16 must be accompanied and supervised by a full paying adult at all times.
Children aged 10-16 can walk their own goat but must be accompanied by a full paying adult walking their own goat.
Pushchairs are not allowed around the goats as there are too many temptations for them to chew and nibble them. The terrain is unsuitable too. Please consider this when booking.
